- JWJanet WhitakerApr 7, 20265.0Excellent store!! Assistant manager was so helpful. I’m in my 60’s and had traveled to Brunswick to pick up an item on marketplace. I was over an hour from home and my tire picked up something and was losing air quickly!! I pulled into Advance Auto Parts and ran inside. Employee quickly helped me purchase a plug kit. I went outside and started to try and determine the leak. Although I could hear it I still was unsure of procedure to use the kit to plug it. The assistant manager was outstanding. He came out and helped out using two plugs to stop the leak and refill the air needed!!! It was customer service plus and I’m so grateful for the kindness I received. Advance Auto Parts Thank You 🙏🏻 I got home safely thanks to their help and kindness.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
