This has been one of the most frustrating, dishonest, and unprofessional rental experiences I’ve ever had.
We originally went to the Takoma Park location to pick up our rental as instructed. When we arrived, Brenden told the vehicle wasn’t there and that we had to drive to the Silver Spring location instead. Takoma said they would forward all our information over.
At Silver Spring, Erin gave us a full walkthrough of the vehicle and clearly pointed out multiple existing body damages. We specifically asked if we should take photos, and she told us there was no need because everything was already documented in their system.
So we trusted their process.
During our rental, the ONLY damage that happened was a small windshield crack. We were honest and immediately disclosed it at return. We even paid $500 out of pocket on the spot and were told that if the total cost was higher, they would simply let us know the difference.
Simple and fair.
But what happened next was completely unacceptable.
When we returned the vehicle to Takoma, Brendan assisted us. Instead of addressing only the windshield, he falsely claimed that the other body damages happened while we had the car and even said he “inspected the car with us before we took it.”
That is simply not true.
He NEVER inspected the car with us because we picked it up at Silver Spring, not Takoma. He wasn’t even there. That statement alone was dishonest.
What’s worse is that Brendan knowingly added all of those pre-existing damages to the claim anyway.
He knew those damages were already there.
He knew we didn’t pick the car up from him.
He knew he never inspected it with us.
And he still added them to the claim.
That’s not a mistake…that’s dishonest.
To make it even worse, the claim they filed doesn’t even include the windshield…. the ONLY damage we actually caused and were willing to pay for.
Instead, they filed a claim through insurance for unrelated body damage and never called us first.
When I asked why they would file through my insurance when I clearly said I would pay out of pocket, Brendan said “sometimes renters don’t want to pay.”
That was NOT my situation.
I was very clear that I would pay.
So why take my $500 and still file an insurance claim anyway?
And if filing insurance is “protocol,” then why take my $500 deposit at all?
None of it makes sense.
It feels like they just automatically push everything through insurance and hope the renter doesn’t fight it.
On top of that, both locations showed serious internal communication failures. Silver Spring initially claimed there was no record of giving us the vehicle ….which is impossible because Takoma had to send our information there.
Brendan even admitted there was poor communication and that notes weren’t documented properly.
So now we’re being blamed and billed for their mistakes.
Because of their lack of documentation and honesty, I’ve had to take time off work and spend hours disputing a claim for damages we did not cause.
Customers should not be treated like this.
This experience showed:
• dishonesty
• inaccurate claims
• poor record keeping
• lack of accountability
• and extremely unprofessional behavior
Brendan in particular was misleading, inconsistent, and added charges he knew were not ours.
That’s unacceptable.
Enterprise seriously needs better training, better communication between locations, and more integrity in how claims are handled.
Very disappointed and extremely frustrated.

From check out to return was a pleasing experience. The management assistant was very knowledgeable and helpful with our needs, and we greatly appreciated his tact. Mr. Alpha Johnson is to be commended for his assistance with seniors. We trust Enterprise and will recommend them to all our friends.
