Avery was awesome to work with! Very knowledgeable about the vehicle I was purchasing and its features. He got me quick responses to questions and made the process as efficient as possible. Felt like I was talking to a buddy instead of a salesman, which I’ve never experienced while buying a car. Kind of made it harder to haggle because he was too damn nice, but at least the experience was more enjoyable than normal.
Everyone I dealt with at Pohanka Hyundai was friendly. Got the usual extended warranty/maintenance pitch while closing, and even that wasn’t terrible. Kim was persuasive, but didn’t turn a cold shoulder to me when I said, “no thanks.”
I have no complaints!

I took my vehicle to this dealership to diagnose a check-engine light and to check cylinder compression. The experience was extremely frustrating from start to finish.
I was first given an estimate for an oil change, spark plug replacement, and coolant flush totaling about $1,000. I was told compression on cylinder 2 was good, but they hadn’t checked the other cylinders. When I asked whether the recommended work would fix the check-engine light, they said they weren’t sure, yet still wanted me to approve the work.
I asked for a full compression test on all cylinders before moving forward. After finally checking all four cylinders, they told me cylinder 4 had low compression and would need to be rebuilt.
Then, without further explanation, a day or two later I suddenly received a message saying I now needed an entirely new engine. No clear diagnostics, no consistent communication, and no transparency about what changed between estimates.
Overall, the communication was confusing, delayed, and unprofessional. I expected better from a dealership. I would not recommend this service department based on my experience.

My wife and I were traveling from eastern NC to New Hope PA and our battery light came on. Thus we ended up at Pohanka Hyundai 11/12/25 for diagnostic and repair. They were able to squeeze us in, deal with the extended warranty BS, make the repairs, shuttle us to Longhorn for dinner, provide a video of the recommended service, and do all this a high degree of professionalism and courtesy....all in the same day! Well done Pohanka Hyundai!

service side is phenomenal. they have amazing customer service and super friendly and considerate of customers. the videos through service are also super nice. finance side is complete opposite. awful at communication and don’t care about customers after car is purchased. had to get involved with corporate just to get the promised extension on my temp tag after they wouldn’t respond to my numerous calls. also apparently a certain salesmen makes comments about female customers physical appearance to the others. (learned through being friends with one of the salesmen). all of service workers and most of the salesmen are nice though and do a good job.

I’ve been to this service center five times with the same electrical issue on my 2018 Hyundai Sonata.
Here’s exactly what happened:
On my first visit, I suspected the alternator might be the issue, but the service insisted it was the battery instead. They replaced the battery, but the problem didn’t go away.
On my second visit, they said there might be a wiring issue. I asked if the problem could be related to the ECU, but they said no, and again insisted the alternator was fine. They told me to come back later for further checks — which I did.
On my third visit, they suddenly changed their opinion and said the alternator was the problem after all. Since they had told me twice before that the alternator was “perfectly fine,” I didn’t trust that diagnosis anymore and refused to replace it.
After that, the problem got worse — the dashboard lights stayed on constantly. I ended up replacing the alternator myself, but the issue still wasn’t fixed.
When I went back again, they said they found dirty or corroded cables, cleaned them, and the warning lights went away — but only for two days. The same issues came back immediately.
On my fifth visit, they said there might be issues with some modules or cables, and they asked for extra diagnostic fees again.
At that point, I refused because I had already been there five times, and each time the technical team gave a different explanation without solving anything.
To be honest, the reception staff (except for one rude woman I met during my first visit) were always polite and tried their best to help.
The main reason I kept returning to this location was because of good experiences in the past, but it seems like the technical team is not as skilled or consistent as before.
Overall, it’s disappointing to see how much the quality of service has declined. After multiple visits, time, and expenses, I still don’t have a proper fix or clear explanation.
