They scheduled my windshield replacement appointment, knowing my windshield needed recallibrated, however they don't have the equipment to do it. They replaced my windshield at my home and then told me I needed to come into their shop to recallibrate the windshield because they did not have the machine with them. I drive 40 minutes to their shop, sat for 30 minutes for them to tell me that they cannot do it because they don't have the right machine. They told me I had to go to the dealership to get the job finished. Very frustrating!

My experience with Safelite has been incredibly frustrating from start to finish. I scheduled a driver-side window replacement through GEICO for November 10, and despite leaving work early to accommodate their five-hour window, I soon learned they never even had my glass in stock. No one called to inform me—every update came only after I reached out. My appointment was moved from Monday, to Wednesday, to Thursday, and then pushed out two more weeks because the part “didn’t exist.”
During freezing weather, I was forced to rely on a rental car for 17 days. If I hadn’t purchased rental coverage, this mistake would have cost me over $800.
When the glass finally arrived, the installation itself was another ordeal. The window wouldn’t calibrate properly, and after hours of back-and-forth, phone calls, and incorrect information, I was told to drive to a store that didn’t even have a Master Technician as promised. Eventually, Safelite admitted they had installed the wrong type of glass and needed to reorder OEM glass—adding yet another week of delays.
Despite multiple failures—poor communication, unkept promises, incorrect parts, and repeated inconvenience—no one ever offered an apology or attempted to make the situation right. The only part of this experience that went smoothly was the final installation, nearly a month after my original appointment.
After everything my family and I went through, I can confidently say we will never use Safelite again, and I will be sharing this experience with others so they know what to expect.
