- SLSabrina LentzNov 16, 20251.0I went in to buy a headlight and a new battery for my car and upon purchase Emmanuel M. came outside to assist with the installation. He seemed to be having difficulty removing the old battery, which wasn’t a problem, I was happy not to have to do the job myself. It took about 30 minutes total for the full swap, after which Emmanuel came over to me and said “I had to remove the air box so that goes beyond the free replacement.” I asked how much and I was prepared to go inside and pay the $25 he quoted me and then he asked for cash, or cashapp or Zelle. It was then that I realized he was trying to force me into tipping him for the job. I’ll be honest, it was a chilly, windy day, and I doubt he wanted to be outside for that long so I planned on giving him the $10 bill I had on me but outright telling me that he needed extra money and making it seem like that is normal business practice was outrageous to me and honestly I will probably never be back as a result.
