I had an extremely frustrating and unacceptable experience at Heritage Hyundai in Owings Mills. Based on how I was treated and the condition in which my vehicle was returned, I would strongly advise against purchasing any services from this dealership.
From the outset, communication was inadequate and poorly managed. I received conflicting and inconsistent information regarding the scope of work to be performed. My primary concerns were a fuel tank recall and a leaking valve cover gasket. While I was initially provided a loaner vehicle for one day, this unexpectedly extended to five days. Each day brought a different explanation for the delay, including claims of parts being ordered, a technician failing to show up, requests pending with Hyundai corporate, or technicians being overwhelmed with prior vehicles. I was repeatedly assured that these delays were documented in their system.
After more than a week, I was informed that a previous dealership had allegedly damaged the valve cover, rendering the repair ineligible for warranty coverage. Despite this claim, Heritage Hyundai proceeded to remove the valve cover, install a new gasket, and charge me $575 for the diagnostic fee, the gasket, and use of the loaner vehicle. Notably, the fuel tank recall—the original reason for my visit—was never addressed nor even inspected.
I paid the charge and explicitly requested that my vehicle be returned in a safe, drivable condition so I could take it to the dealership that originally diagnosed the issue. What followed was deeply concerning. Upon receiving the vehicle, it would not start. Multiple bolts were missing from the valve cover, and critical components—including camshaft and other major plugs—were left disconnected. Only after the service manager intervened and reconnected one of the plugs did the vehicle start.
When I questioned why my vehicle had been returned in significantly worse condition than when I brought it in, I was met with vague, dismissive responses. I was repeatedly assured that the vehicle was “safe to drive” because the new gasket would not leak, despite being advised to replace the valve cover later. Within minutes of leaving the dealership, I observed oil spraying throughout the engine compartment. Fortunately, the oil did not reach the exhaust system, which could have resulted in a fire—despite their assurances that the vehicle was safe.
Best car buying experience I’ve had, no question. They actually treated me like I mattered and didn’t rush me through anything.
They broke everything down, made sure I understood the numbers, and kept it straight the whole time—no pressure.
Phillip Hausley and Dajour Thomas took care of me and made the whole process smooth.
If you want a dealership that does things the right way, this is it.

I took my vehicle back "home" after driving it for a few years and performing the usual maintenance asking the way. I provided the team with my service documents so they knew the current status of the vehicle.
Lynese and the team of mechanics/technicians did stellar work. The vehicle was ready before I was ready to pick it up.
A trip back to the dealership is never cheap, but Lynese did everything to find whatever discounts she could so I could get back on the road. This won't be our only retrieve to this dealership.

I had a great experience getting my car serviced, thanks to Vince. From the moment I arrived, he was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. He took the time to explain what my car needed in a way that was easy to understand, without trying to upsell unnecessary services.
The work was done efficiently, and I really appreciated the attention to detail and honesty throughout the process. It’s not always easy to find someone you can trust with your vehicle, but Vince definitely earned that trust.
If you’re looking for reliable car maintenance and excellent customer service, I highly recommend asking for Vince. I’ll definitely be coming back!
I visited Hyundai Owings Mills and truly appreciated the customer service. They were friendly and attentive.
And….Just wanted to be transparent, prior to coming to Owings Mills, I had an appointment at Hyundai in Towson. I was provided a scheduled appointment and arrived 10 minutes late. I called and was told by the call line operator that I was given a grace period so they ensured that I would be able to be seen. I arrived through the automated garage and sat in my car. Multiple service members walked by me and my husband but we sat patiently just waiting to be acknowledged and thinking perhaps they must be busy ( although we were the only cars parked waiting). After 20 - 25 minutes we asked a service member who walked by twice for assistance. The gentleman was impatient and stated well your late we don’t have take customers after 3:30pm ? I explained politely that we had an appointment. We continued to wait for him to check on the appointment and returned saying that the repair men were about to leave and that he is sure I would not want them to look at my car and rush the job. He offered to reschedule. The entire vibe was very tense .. and as we pulled away from the garage a few man approached lined up said nothing as we drove off.. I felt like they were looking for a confrontation. I would Never do any business at THAT particular location.
I typically don’t have time or energy to post negative reviews but I hope if anyone had that type of experience they should know it’s not a problem bring your business further around the beltway to Owings Mills, they have an awesome shuttle service and driver who is courteous and people who work there seem to treat ALL customers fairly and with RESPECT!!!!
