- SASteve AJan 21, 20264.0Update: the communication issues were due to differences in insurance companies handling the claims with the updates going to the other driver who was involved in the crash. The team at Gerber reached out and handled the issue with enterprise to ensure I was not charged out of pocket for the extra day Horrible communication leading to extra charges, choose another location if your insurer allows it. Dropped my car off on Jan 5 and was told they would reach out in a couple days to provide an updated estimated time of repair. A week goes by with no call so I call them, no answer and I’m redirected to their national help center who have no information. Cool, try calling back a couple days later. Same thing, no response. I keep doing this every couple days until finally I get an email from the rental company letting me know that Gerber notified them my car would be ready for pickup on the 21st. Three main issues: 1) they told the car rental company my car was ready for pickup before they told me 2) they never provided an estimate as to when they would have my car ready 3) the car rental company sent me the email stating my car was ready for pickup at 6:11 which is after Gerber closes so I’m the hook for an extra day of rental coverage out of pocket since my vehicle was “ready” on the 21st* Definitely would not recommend due to the complete lack of communication. *not sure if Gerber is at fault or the car rental but given my experience with their communications/lack thereof I would not be surprised if they told the rental agency at 5 PM on the 21st that my car was ready for pickup
