Had to replace a fairly new tire that received a decorative screw near the sidewall, courtesy of whoever caused it to be in the roadways - thank you very much /s. Came to this NTB (Chillum road, Hyattsville). Straightforward, friendly, timely. Got me a replacement tire in a few hours. Other than the cost (like everywhere else), great experience. Thank you, dude at NTB whose name I didn't get. :-)

Jose is a very helpful young man, who shows great leadership and customers service. I was supposed he wasn’t the store manager or district manager. I’m sure he’d be qualified for both positions. but he told me was an associate. Kudos ntb. I will be coming back and telling all my friends and neighbors about Jose and ntb

I recently visited the NTB for front and rear brake/rotor replacement and a brake fluid exchange. I’ve been to this location several times before without issues, but this visit involved multiple miscommunications. A couple of weeks earlier, I came in for an oil change and was given several recommendations, including brakes and a fuel injection service. I completed the fuel injection service at that time and was quoted $500 per axle for brakes and $109 for the brake fluid exchange. When I later called to schedule the brake work, the rep confirmed that pricing and estimated my total at about $1,109. After dropping off my car, I received a call confirming the brakes needed replacement, but the rep also recommended services I had already completed—specifically the fuel injection service. After I pointed this out, they checked my history and acknowledged it had already been done. I was told recommendations are often based on manufacturer recommendations and mileage rather than a full review of service history or an inspection of the vehicle. The bigger issue was pricing. During that same call, I was quoted $1,320—significantly higher than the original estimate. After questioning it, the price was lowered slightly to $1,287, which I agreed to. However, when I picked up my car, I was again told the total was $1,320. After discussing it with the staff, they applied a discount and brought it down to $1,267. While the team ultimately corrected the price, the experience was frustrating due to inconsistent quotes and recommendations that didn’t reflect recent service. I had no issue speaking up, but I do wonder if other customers might end up paying more or agreeing to unnecessary work. I hope this was just an off day and that they improve communication and review service history more carefully before making recommendations

I came in to have my front tires replaced, as those were the only ones that were worn down. While I understand the staff recommended replacing all four tires, I declined due to cost and because my rear tires were still in better condition. However, without clearly communicating or getting my approval, the shop moved my existing rear tires to the front and installed the new tires on the back. This was not what I requested. If this is standard practice or a recommendation, it should have been explained before any work was done. I was not given the opportunity to agree or decline that change. As a customer, I expect to be consulted before decisions are made that go against my original request. I do want to acknowledge that both Anthony and Jose were helpful in trying to resolve the situation. Jose advised me to come back so it could be corrected, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, when I returned, the store manager, Henry, made the situation more difficult than it needed to be. What should have been a simple fix—switching the tires as originally requested—turned into unnecessary back-and-forth. Having to repeatedly explain my request only made the situation more frustrating. My concern is not about recommendations—it’s about not being given a choice. At the end of the day, it’s my vehicle, and I should have been able to decide how the service was performed.
