- SSsathlinOct 29, 20252.0I've been shopping at Advance for a very long time. It was my first time at this location. The person helping me spoke very little english, but fine. The other person who installed my car battery, didn't put in the battery backup so i don't lose all my radio information. He didn't even know what i was talking about when i mentioned it. Was not even on their cart. I've never had this issue at any other advance, they always automatically install it before disconnecting my battery.

- SFscott fehlingerJul 28, 20251.0CHECK YOUT RECEIPT BEFORE YOU LEAVE. I purchased freon for my car on 7/25. I bought the wrong kind and needed to return. However, the receipt is got when I originally purchased was for brake pads not the freon. So I had to settle for a store credit for the amount of the freon which is half the price of the brake pads that were on the receipt. Won't be visiting this location any more.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
