Dealership sold me a used car with an active oil leak and needing a control arm replaced. During my 30 day warranty I took the vehicle in with concerns regarding both issues. They “replaced the control arm” under warranty but dismissed my concern regarding being 2-3qts low on oil. After 4 more oil changes at the dealership (low oil or NO OIL upon arrival) they finally “found the leak.” They wanted to charge me estimated $3k to reseal oil pan with no regard to the fact that there was a documented issue since purchase. I then took the truck to my normal mechanic for a second opinion who put my car on the lift and brought me back to show me the factory control arm still installed (not replaced) and bolts LOOSE. When I brought this to the dealerships attention and asked for a fair buyback, they never got back to me. I had to sell the truck and take a $15k hit on the negative equity because they would not perform repairs without charging me or work with me after selling me essentially a broken truck. Will never use Ideal again. For context, the timeline of events took place over 6months.

Worst place ever, those techs they have working their don’t take care of your vehicle. They break things and Ideal GMC Robb Mercer says they can’t do anything. My side fender flew off while on the interstate, gladly no one was near. We take care of our vehicles and entrust them with these ppl and once out the there, oh we didn’t touch that. BS worst dealership service dept

Salesman and Finance teams were nice and professional. The Sales Manager needs professional training on how to speak to buyers. Honestly, we almost walked out of the dealership immediately when he came over with him attitude and aggressiveness. Additionally, he insisted on trying to tell us our vehicle had no value and that they needed to add more value to the new car than what it was worth. Complete scam. I will never recommended this dealership to anyone. Perhaps some personal skills and communication skills training would help this sales manager.

We’ve purchased multiple vehicles from Ideal, but their service department is crooked. A service tech broke a sensor on our 30,000-mile vehicle and they made us pay for it. We also have photo evidence showing the hex portion of the sensor was chewed up—there’s no way a wrench was used; it looks like channel-lock pliers. We will not be returning ever again.

While traveling in Northern VA I had to have my 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 towed into Ideal Buick GMC on a Saturday afternoon for emergency transmission repair. On Monday morning I went to the shop and was greeted by Rob Mercer, the service manager and his advisors. After explaining my issue with the transmission failure Rob immediately had the truck diagnosed and explained the needed rebuild required. They started working on the truck that morning and completed the rebuild quickly and efficiently which had me back on the rode Tuesday afternoon to upstate NY. Rob Mercer and his service technician delivered an “above and beyond exceptional experience” at Ideal Buick GMC. His professionalism, concern and genuine emphasis on resolving my problem gave me full confidence that my vehicle would be repaired by the service department. The level of care and customer focus was truly outstanding, including a follow up call a few hours later while I was traveling back North to make sure all was well. I would highly recommend the Ideal Buick GMC service department.
