I wasn’t permitted to give 0 stars! I had the most HORRIBLE experience with Mr. Tire in Clarksville, MD, #1504. I’m out a $100 deposit they are dragging their feet to refund, a great deal of frustration, and no tire! PLEASE save yourself the hassle and take your car anywhere else! My story: On Wednesday, October 8, 2025, I brought my car to this location, as a tire had a slow leak. The technician determined there was a small nail in a non-removable spot, and that I would need a new tire. As they did not have my preferred Yokahama tires in stock, and the situation was not deemed urgent, I took the tech’s advice to have them order the tire, putting a $100 deposit on my credit card. He assured me the tire would arrive the next day (Thursday), or Friday morning at latest. I heard nothing, so I called Friday afternoon, identified myself, and was told no tire yet. I called again and identified myself, around 4, hoping to get the tire replaced that day. I spoke with “Will” the manager, who had promised in our earlier phone call that he’d look out for the tire and call me when it arrived, writing down my name and number. When we spoke at 4, he said that another person had called about the same tire, and that he was “confused.” (It was likely me, who called twice.)
After hearing nothing from them, I called back even later (they are open till 7), and Will said they now had the tire and “ had decided” to replace it at 10 am Saturday (I was given no choice in this, and wasn’t called about their decision.)
I arrived at 10 am Saturday as agreed. A clerk with greying hair and beard greeted me by insulting both me and my vehicle (seriously??) and found Will. From there, my time was wasted as they searched for the tire. They did not find it.
At that point, incredulous at their incompetence, I requested a refund of my deposit. Neither manager Will or the bearded clerk could figure out how to process my refund. After many, many minutes (during which the bearded clerk also could not to figure out how to print a copy for me), I left, then realized I had not asked when the refund would be returned to my credit card. I called and was told it would be 24-48 hours (Monday morning.) As the refund hadn’t appeared on my card by Monday afternoon, I called Customer Service, where a rep assured me it would be processed “Tuesday or Wednesday,” as it had been a weekend, and that she would personally call me once it was complete. Well, it is Wednesday and nothing! So I called today and was on hold for over 30 minutes (4-4:30 pm). I gave up and just disputed the charge with my credit card company. I have wasted so much time and energy (plus $100 I hope I will see again) with this tire center — I will NEVER use them again! This was an unbelievable show of incompetence — many good people are sadly out of work — this is the best staff available?
