Great experience at Fountain Tire on Fort Street. The staff were friendly, professional, and very easy to deal with. They completed a thorough safety inspection, clearly explained what needed attention and what could wait, with no pressure. Service was efficient, communication was clear, and I felt confident my vehicle was safe and road-ready. Highly recommend this location!

I feel the customer service has gone down in quality a bit. What once was a cheerful place to take our family veichles for our seasonal tire change overs/minor repairs is now somewhat lacking in the customer service department. I and my family members ( husband, mother, sisters) have now had a few issues and this latest one with time mismanagement ( a text message "reconfirming" a 7:30am Saturday morning appointment despite the shop not even being open, to which we showed up to and left voicemail ), or to them calling the wrong number multiple times for service calls despite face to face confirmation of which number to call when the vehicle was dropped off. It just doesn't seem like the same place as it was a few years ago and has become a bit frustrating. It may be time for us to move onto a new place.

Angelo is great! Demonstrates outstanding customer service! I think it's safe to assume the whole team, does the same! Got my wheel patched and then the next day went in for a retorquing and no waiting was acquired. Just pulled up to Bay 2. I asked Daniel if he could quickly retorque all the wheels he said yeah no problem and it was done within minutes fantastic Establishment!
Tires wear out over time, and how long they last depends on things like road conditions, driving habits, inflation, and temperature. The best way to know when to replace them is to check them regularly.
Common ways to measure tread include the following.
- Tread wear bars: When these are flush with the tread, it’s time to replace.
- Coin test: If too much of the coin shows, your tread is low.
- Tread depth gauge: The most accurate way to measure.
If your tread is low or you see cracks, bulges, or notice vibration, come see us.
What are some signs my vehicle is out of alignment?
It doesn’t take much to throw your alignment off—potholes, curbs, or just everyday driving. Poor alignment can lead to faster tire wear and poor handling.
Common signs include:
- Vehicle pulls to one side
- Crooked steering wheel
- Uneven tire wear
- Loose or unstable steering
- Vibration in the steering wheel
If something feels off, we’re happy to take a look.
What’s included in the seasonal car care package?
Our seasonal car care package gets your vehicle ready for the weather ahead. It includes:
- Fresh engine oil and filter
- Chassis lubrication (as needed)
- Charging and starting system check
- Brake inspection
- Fluid top-ups
- Belt and hose inspection
- Battery test
- Tire and pressure check
- Heating/cooling system check
- Lights, wipers, and overall safety check
It’s a great way to make sure your vehicle is ready for the season.
What do the numbers on my tires mean?
The numbers on your tire’s sidewall tell you the size, load rating, and speed rating.
Example: 225/55R17 97H
- 225 – Tire width (mm)
- 55 – Height as a % of width
- R – Radial construction
- 17 – Wheel diameter (inches)
- 97 – Load rating (how much weight it can carry)
- H – Speed rating (maximum safe speed)
These numbers help us match you with the right tire.
When should I put my winter tires on?
A good rule of thumb: when you can see your breath — about 7°C and below. At that temperature, all-season tires start to harden, while winter tires stay flexible and grippy. Booking early helps you beat the rush.
