The gentleman (I think his name was Frankie, which big shout out!! 🙌) in the store this evening was super prompt, came to check out my car and make sure it actually did need a new battery. - PCPat CannyJun 3, 20242.0Got a new 12V battery for my Chevy Bolt back in March. The staff was super friendly and helpful, but it turns out: they sold me a defective battery. I only learned this yesterday after getting it swapped out at the location in Danvers after having issues starting the vehicle. The battery was evidently several months old at the time of purchase, and, based on what the Danvers staff told me, "should not have been installed." I got the feeling the Wilmington location is simply not used to selling 12V batteries for EVs, and may not have checked the manufacturing month on the battery they had in stock. I believe this is called a "training opportunity".

Typically a car battery will last 2-5 years, with premium batteries lasting 5-6 years. But you should replace it every 4 years for safe measures if you want to avoid any unwanted problems.
What are the signs of a bad car battery?
Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
