- DSDaria SokolovaDec 10, 20251.0I came to Sullivan Tire on Monday asking for winter tires, and if possible, Continental Viking Contact 8 for my wheels. I was told everything would be ordered and ready, and my appointment for Wednesday at 10 AM was confirmed. But when I arrived today for my appointment, I was told that my order was not processed for some unknown reason. The tires were not in the shop, and apparently they had been bought by someone else some time ago. No one explained why this happened, and no one notified me in advance. Instead, I got this “surprise” only when I showed up for the appointment. If I had been told on Monday that the tires were not available, I would have immediately looked at other brands or gone to another shop and ordered a different set right away. In that case, I would have easily received them before my Friday trip to Canada. Instead, I only learned about the issue on Wednesday, after losing two full days. I then spent the entire Wednesday driving from shop to shop, trying to find winter tires that would fit my wheels. Nothing suitable was in stock anywhere, everything had to be ordered, and the earliest delivery for the tires I needed would have been Monday, which was already too late. Sullivan Tire offered me only a couple of random tires they had in stock, but they were completely unacceptable. Because of this situation, I ended up having to spend significantly more money on new wheels of a different size just so I could buy winter tires that were actually available in stock. All of this happened simply because Sullivan Tire acted irresponsibly and failed to communicate. I will never return to this shop and would not recommend it to anyone, you can easily end up in the same situation.

Nothing to do with Sullivan. It’s the industry. So many brands, so many models, so hard to make an informed choice. I used Consumer Reports, Wirecutter and ChatGPT. None helped. I feel the industry is set up to make it inevitable that we overpay.
