- GUGutoFla USAFeb 22, 20261.0I am writing to formally complain about a very poor and unacceptable experience I had at the Advance Auto Parts store in South Yarmouth, Cape Cod, on Sunday morning. I purchased a car battery at this location, and there are multiple signs at the entrance clearly stating FREE battery installation and testing. At no point do those signs mention any requirement related to a minimum number of employees in the store in order for this service to be provided. However, one employee — who was extremely rude and unprofessional — told me that the battery could not be installed because there were “only two employees” working and that they were busy, even though there was only one other customer in the store besides me. The employee showed no interest in helping, offered no solution, and simply refused the installation. I was basically left on my own. The only reason I was not stranded in your parking lot is because I was lucky enough to leave my car running when I entered the store. If I had turned it off, my car would not have started, since the employee refused to install the battery and I did not have tools to do it myself. This situation was unacceptable, unsafe, and completely contradictory to what is advertised by Advance Auto Parts. I expect better training, clearer policies, and respectful treatment of customers. I am extremely dissatisfied with this experience and expect this issue to be addressed seriously.
