He said that was fine. However, when I arrived, I was told they could not do the inspection after all. This was very unprofessional.

So I spent an extra 800 bucks getting them replaced. Just got back from another mechanic doing my brakes and was shown that my tire has significant uneven wear and there is play in the ball joint in the control arm. Now I need a tire and another control arm before inspection. I work from home and have driven the car less than 10000 miles since the swap.
