  I never write reviews but - I recently needed a fairly urgent exhaust leak repair while in Somerville. My car had failed inspection for just that issue, so I checked out Sullivan, rather than going to my usual mechanic closer to where I live. They took all day to look at my car and called me to inform me of tons of things that needed urgent repairs (I wasn't shocked by this possibility, as my car is fourteen years old). They listed off issues with all four of my brakes, my transmission, power steering, and more. Again, I wouldn't have been surprised if this had been true. They then proceeded to give me an estimate of nearly $5,900 in repairs!! I couldn't believe it and sensed something fishy right then and there. I'm getting a new car soon, so I asked them for a quote to fix only the absolutely necessary things so the car would be safe to drive in the short term. For these few things, they quoted me over $3,OOO! With their estimates being so outrageous, I told them not to fix anything and to only charge me for the examination (they charged me over $200)! I went to my local mechanic and he said that only a couple of the repairs were actually needed. Fixed my exhaust and two of my brakes for only $650, including examination/labor. He said that Sullivan is notorious for charging 3x what most others charge. Don't give these guys any of your time or money if you can help it and just know that they're seriously shady with their pricing. Stay far away!

  Sullivan Tire provided an exceptional experience. I scheduled an appointment online, but I had forgotten to select the tires I wanted during my online request. A representative promptly reached out to ensure I received the correct tires, and we got my appointment set for the next day. The entire staff was incredibly kind and professional. I’ll definitely be returning.

  Made an appointment for 8 am for wheel balancing, planned on waiting at the shop. Was told when I arrived that it would be a 2 hour wait. Went to work, called in the afternoon and was told car would be ready at 5. Called at 5 and was told car wouldn’t be ready until 6. Why make an appointment if it’s going to take 10 hours to do a service that shouldn’t take more than 45 minutes. If I wasn’t calling I wouldn’t have heard any updates on what was going on.
