Location: 193 Elm St. Route 110, Salisbury, MA Date of Visit: Friday, September 19th, 2025, around 5:30 PM I had an exceptional experience at this Valvoline location thanks to Tom, and I want to give him the recognition he truly deserves. My friend and I were on our way from Boston to Bar Harbor, Maine for a weekend getaway when, less than an hour into our drive, my check engine light came on. Also note, I was shy a couple hundred miles from needing an oil change and a one-way trip to Bar Harbor from Boston is roughly 285 miles (not great planning on my end) ... I immediately began to panic, worried that continuing the trip might cause serious damage to my car. My friend suggested we stop at the nearest Valvoline—and I’m so glad we did. Tom greeted us warmly with a smile and quickly put me at ease. During the oil change, he explained everything clearly and checked over my car without trying to upsell me on anything I didn’t need—which I greatly appreciated. He was honest, professional, and genuinely kind. Sensing my anxiety about the engine light, Tom went above and beyond by using a diagnostic tool to check the error code. He found it was related to the EVAP system—something minor involving air in the gas tank. He explained everything in a calm, reassuring way, cleared the code from my dashboard, and told me what to look out for in case it came back. A month later, the light still hasn’t returned. Thanks to Tom, I was able to continue our 5.5-hour drive with peace of mind and enjoy the trip without worry. His calm demeanor, honesty, and kindness turned a stressful moment into a great customer experience. It was truly a 1000/10 interaction! I noticed that Nathan is listed as the manager on my invoice—please make sure Tom is recognized for his outstanding service and delightful spirit. Always had a good experience here and the staff is and has always been friendly and helpful. Thorough and knowledgeable and they dont seem to have a high rate of turn over. Recommend.
