  Safe Harbor Sunset Bay did a terrible bottom painting job on my Boston Whaler. I’d expect a business like this to take pride in their work but clearly that is not the case at SHSB. They painted over barnacles and did not scrape off the barnacles that grew on the outboard mount or lower unit. I did find the owner/manager in the bar at SHSB when I checked in on the boat on a Saturday in October. Maybe if he had taken a minute to inspect his crews work it might have been fixed. Apparently, quality assurance has no place at SHSB. Both the shoddy work and the lack of responsibility for quality assurance caused me to want to point this out to future customers. Sorry SHSB, but I’m very disappointed all around with you and cannot recommend you.

  Very unhappy. Clearly understaffed and totally unreliable with service timelines. A month into the season and my boat is not in the water for Memorial Day weekend. The slip rental is supposed to start on May 1. Despite being able to operate the boat in the fall and having the team do a considerable amount of work over the winter (without everything being put back together yet as of this week), today I find out about a new purported problem that will delay launch. Even if this is the case - even if my engine was total trash (which isn't the case) - I should not be first finding out about it a month into the season after having proactive winter work done. The marina is becoming "closed" without letting outside vendors/mechanics do work on the boats there. I shudder to think how much time I'll waste dealing with unreliable information and delays. The marina was already unhappy that I had someone put a sound system in (which took less than 2 weeks and was on time). When would the marina have gotten to that - October?

  Sunset Bay Marina in Hull, Ma is an excellent place to call your home port or visit during the summer. Everything from the location, the staff, and the marina members make keeping our boat at Sunset one of the best decisions we’ve made. Bob and his staff are always willing to do whatever is necessary to make sure we enjoy every day on the water and have helped us from learning how to boat, making repairs, assisting in tying up to the dock when we return, and providing fuel. The marina also sponsors events which is a great way to get to know the other members. Additionally, what really makes Sunset unique is the breath taking views of the Boston skyline and the onsite brew pub. Going into our 4th year, we are looking forward to another summer of boating and great times at Sunset Bay.
