I clearly explained that I was from out of town, attending and speaking at an event, and needed to return to NYC that evening. No one contacted me before the store closed and my car was locked inside the garage overnight, forcing me to stay in Great Barrington unexpectedly, incur additional expenses, and lose a workday. When the store reopened, staff gave contradictory explanations. First I was told a voicemail had been left (untrue). When I challenged that, the explanation changed to “the phone lines were down.” When I asked a manager why no one made any effort to contact me given the circumstances, I was told it was my responsibility to know their closing hours. Despite all of this, I was offered only a minimal discount of $24. I later contacted Mavis customer service, was promised a callback, and never received one. This was unprofessional, misleading, and showed a complete lack of accountability. I would strongly caution out-of-town customers or anyone relying on basic communication.

I received a call during the process, with the employee saying that my brake pads were in the “red zone” and needed urgent replacing. I declined, stating that I would come back another time. The staff’s demeanor shifted from from being kind and friendly to being rude. Weeks later, I took my car to its dealership for an oil change and brake inspection, only to find out the brake pads were in the green and did NOT need replacing. I would not take advice from the employees at this tire shop, as clearly they will take advantage of people they believe don’t know any better.
