  Had an installer out last week to replace my windshield. Caught the installer several times just chillin in my truck on his phone. Probably why the job took like over 4 hrs .Whatever no biggie on that... I wasnt in a rush to go anywhere luckily. But when I came out to check it after he finishes up and didnt tell me (even though I asked him to specifically) I come out to find shards of glass left all over my driveway. Not a few pieces which I could understand but like 100's of sharp shards of glass all over my driveway and I keep finding more and more as the snow melts. I have 2 dogs that I now cannot bring out to my vehicle without physically carrying. Both of which are well over 100 lbs and dont enjoy being picked up and carried. I can reasonably understand some glass shards being missed to an extent but theres legitimately 100's of pieces with more and more appearing everyday as the snow continues to melt! Now I see why the installer just dipped out and didnt say anything or tell me he was done. Because he knew my driveway was now a glass shard mine field for dogs or anyone brave enough to go out there without full soled shoes. Absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. Im a tradesman myself and I understand sometimes things get missed or lost in the fray. But with as much glass as ive found thus far and continue to find this has crossed into the realm of straight laziness and carelessness. What if I hadn't noticed it and brought my dogs out and ended up with a huge vet bill to have glass removed from their feet? What if my kid ran out there in his slippers for something and got shards of glass all in his feet? I will say this, be wary of having them do it in your own driveway, specially if u have small kids or dogs. Like I stated before I could accept a few missed pieces to an extent but when a quarter of my old windshield is laying out in my driveway in razor sharp shards and clearly no attempt was made to at leaste try and pick up what you can, is where I draw the line at not only unacceptable but just plain dangerous and has potential law suit all over it. Do better safelite your a national company and I wouldnt even expect this off a mom and pop local shop never mind a multi billion dollar corporation. Im sure you equip your installers with all the tools they need to clean up broken glass so make sure they're actually making an attempt to use said equipment. Truly disgusted with how unsafe the installer left my driveway. I dont care about me but my dogs and kid is where I draw the damn line!
