Upon arriving at the Boston Logan Airport, we were shuttled off to an off site location for Enterprise Rent A Car. During traffic hour, this was about a half hour away. I would rather pick up and drop off my rental car right at the airport, which I do at so many other Enterprise locations. Upon arrival, I was told that for no extra charge they have given us a full size SUV. This is a practice at many of the Enterprise offices, especially when they don’t have the car available that you pre-selected to rent. Although they make it seem like they have done something really incredible for you by upgrading at no additional charge, a full size SUV is a gas guzzler and you will pay for it in the long run with gas. Not knowing the city, we opted to have the gas tank filled upon return, at their premium price. The extra charges charged to us for this service are $115.66.This might be their standard practice but we have never used this service before and obviously didn’t understand it. I can see if this was for a full tank of gas, but we only used 1/4 tank of gas. We will not be using that service again. Upon returning the car to the rental center the morning of our flight, the address given to us in our paperwork did not take us to the return center and we had to drive around and find it on our own. Not what you want to be doing at 5:30am in a city you’re not familiar with. As for the positives, the car ran well, was clean and had plenty of room for us and our luggage.

I have been renting cars for work purposes for the past five years, and specifically renting from Enterprise for over a year now. This has been the absolute best experience I've had - and the standard was already at a high level. Dakota, Dylan and Nina were absolutely delightful and helpful the entire time. Nina was so patient and understanding as she helped me figure out my issue connecting to car play. She even went out of her way to ask another team member (I did not get his name) and he helped solve the issue. Throughout the entire time, everyone had a smile on their face and made the process of getting a rental actually fun. Huge shoutout to this team!

Enterprise knew we were travelling from Boston to Nashville, despite this gave us a car that needed a service in a couple hundred miles. We then had to waste time on our trip and miss a prebooked activity to swap the vehicle. We did not get the same class of vehicle and were downgraded to a lower class than we had paid for, considering the inconvenience you would have thought an upgrade or compensation. The downgraded vehicle also was not clean nor filled with fuel, despite us having to return it full of fuel at the end of the trip

For years I have rented from Alamo and Budget because they invariably had the lowest price. But price isn’t everything. I’ve had bad experiences with both Alamo and Budget. My last two Budget rentals had cracked windshields. One also had expired license plates. And a headliner that looked like an exploding can of Coke that had stained half of the headliner. Another Alamo rental had the low tire pressure sensor go off after driving for 5 minutes. And it had tires that made a terrible out-of-balance thumping noise. No one from Alamo or Budget adequately checked for those kinds of issues. After those multiple, bad experiences with Budget and Alamo, I decided to switch to Enterprise for my latest rental. I couldn’t have been more pleased. I’m an Enterprise Plus Member, which just means I signed up to use the app. I only rent cars once or twice a year and I have no other special perks with any company. Except I found out at Logan Airport I could check in earlier via the Enterprise phone app and then completely skip the line at the rental counter and go straight to the garage where the cars are parked. A young employee saw me enter the garage and immediately asked me which rental company I was using. I told him Enterprise, and he handed me off to another young person who asked me what type of vehicle I rented. He then pointed out 3 SUVs I could choose from, one a Ford, one a Nissan and one a Toyota. I asked him which was in the nicest condition and he went and opened the driver’s door to the Nissan Pathfinder and told me it had a little over 800 miles on it. I said I’ll take it. He then directed me to the exit booth, where he said another employee would check my driver’s license, which he did. It took a total of less than 10 minutes from the time I entered the rental car facility to the time I drove out of the garage. I couldn’t be happier with my experience with Enterprise. It was far and away much better than my years of mediocre and bad experiences with Alamo and Budget. I will never return to those two companies based on their bargain basement prices. With bargain basement prices I found you often get bargain basement quality rental cars in poor condition.

Sadly, I won't rent from the Logan Airport Enterprise again. The car had issues with the suspension, rear tire balancing and the smell of cannabis. If you've ever driven out of the airport, you know once you Logan, it is very difficult to turn around and return to swap for another car if you identify issues on the highway. As I explained the issues when I returned it elsewhere, I said that the car needs to be serviced and driven by a mechanic before the next renter. 11 days later, someone from Enterprise emailed me. I had already explained all the issues when I returned it, so apparently the different offices have no means of communicating details about issues. To quote from their response: "I did want to clarify that we were not given any details on the issues you encountered" Regardless, I wasn't looking for anything other than having Enterprise take responsibility for maintaining a faulty vehicle. I sure hope they didn't just turn it around to someone else. (PS: I typically don't post reviews, positive or negative, but the only reason I did is because Enterprise kept emailing me asking me to do so!)
