  I had a extremely bad experience with Alamo/Enterprise rental. I gave it 2 stars because in the end they compensated me for the multiple issues and my 2 days of I spent to resolve the issues. All I wanted was a car that worked and I was safe in. It took 3 different cars, many hours traveling to various Enterprise local rental shops and many hours on the phone. I would like to give Athena at Boston Logan Alamo Rental credit for resolving the issue. Also I met one Enterprise Assistant manager who also tried to help, Colin who worked on North Main St. Brockton.

  I usually avoid renting from big corporate outfits—especially at airports—but I’ve got to admit, Alamo Rent A Car at Boston Logan International Airport changed my mind a bit. First, the big win: no games with pricing. I was quoted $158 for three days, and—miracle of miracles—that’s exactly what I paid when I returned the car. No mystery fees, no last-minute “gotchas.” In 2026, that alone deserves applause. Pickup and drop-off staff were great—friendly, efficient, no nonsense. The actual rental experience was smooth. Now the not-so-great part: on my way out, I asked the customer service desk for directions to find a cab/Lyft. They confidently pointed me the wrong way. Not “a little off”—completely wrong. At an airport like Logan, where the rental car area already feels like a maze designed by someone who hates travelers, that’s… not ideal. And speaking of that—Boston’s rental car center is confusing as hell. The signage is borderline useless, so if you’re not familiar with it, build in extra time or prepare to wander like you’re in an escape room with luggage. Bottom line: great pricing transparency and solid rental experience. Just don’t rely on staff for directions unless you’re feeling adventurous.

  Car was fine and in good shape. Rarely choose the prepaid gas option. Learned a big lesson on that. They add all their taxes on top of the fuel cost so much more than the advertised price. As we drove out there is a very nice gas station next door to the facility. The attendant if honest should mention that. We chose prepaid because the airport is such a mess with construction and traffic thought it wouldn't be worth trying to find a gas station on the way back. The shuttle bus is also not good. Very confusing and the driver is not interested in helping. Several stops before you get to the car rental facility. It was an hour from getting off the plane going to the curb and then getting to the facility. We had carry on bags so did not have to go to baggage. The process needs a lot of help. Seems to be fairly recently updated but extremely poor design and system

  Undisclosed gas price and the associated tax at the gate of the airport. I remembered gas price at the front desk when checking in the the prices $4.95. Then later the price per gallon jumped to $7.37 plus sales tax (?). The overall experiences was good however the hidden increase in gas price made me rethink recurrent business. Also they didnt tell us anything about other charges which we could have used. Overall the total cost was much more than initially contracted with Costco. I changed the rating due to the response.

  This was by far the best car rental experience I've ever had and I actually have car rental memberships where picking up your car rental still required me to stand online. With Alamo in Boston I was able to check in online hours before my rental. I filled out what insurance I wanted or didn't want. Alamo had all my information. I was able to skip the line and go right down to the car rental garage. I was greeted with a hello and a smile from a representative who pointed out the cars for me to pick one. I immediately got in one and left. On my way out I showed my drivers license and credit card. The rep said have a great day and with a smile he handed me a business card with his name and a phone number if I should need anything during my rental. I couldn't believe it! I remember saying years ago, whichever car rental company figures out how to make things smooth for people will do way more business than all the other companies. I think Alamo was the first to get on board. I remember flying all the way to Hawaii and after long hours of flying I get off the plane and I still had to go stand in a long line for an hour and a half in the heat waiting to talk to a representative who wants to talk me into buying all kinds of insurance I don't need or want before I can get my reserved rental. Not the way to start a much needed vacation. Congratulations Alamo for figuring out how to smooth line things for your customers.
