After checking several store options I found that the Advance Auto store within a quarter mile of me had 2 in stock and also had the best price of the pack. According to their posted hours, they were supposed to close at 9:00 PM, but at 8:45 PM, they decided to shut their doors early. It’s incredibly unprofessional to play with customers’ time like that. Definitely a letdown and a wasted trip.

The young employee working at the time refused to help me when I asked for assistance. He was focused on his phone and showed no interest in doing his job. When I told him I would inform the owner about the situation, he responded with a rude gesture and refused to give me his name. This level of customer service is unacceptable, and I hope management addresses it seriously.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
