- MMmoiFeb 20, 20261.0I’m sharing this so other customers with newer vehicles are aware of potential issues. I had a windshield repair and replacement done on my Mazda CX-50. The initial crack repair made the damage worse, and the replacement glass installed was aftermarket and caused sensor/ADAS warning codes on the vehicle. Safelite later ordered another windshield, but the issue still wasn’t fully resolved. I eventually had to take the car to a Mazda dealership for proper repair and calibration, which took months to sort out. After a lot of back-and-forth, Allen did step in and helped cover the repairs at Mazda, which I do appreciate. My main concern was communication — updates were very limited and I often had to follow up myself while the process dragged on for months. If you have a newer vehicle with cameras and safety systems, make sure the shop can provide OEM glass and proper calibration from the start. Otherwise, what should be a simple windshield job can turn into a long and expensive headache.
