  I booked a car with National Car Rental, only to be told right before my flight to Boston that cars ware "sold out." No solution offered - just “sorry” and good luck. I was left scrambling with no car and no time, and it completely ruined the start of my vacation. This kind of service is unacceptable. You can't honor confirmed reservations, what's the point of booking at all? Completely unreliable, and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone who values their time, money, or peace of mind.

  National Car Rental in Bedford MA overbooked their inventory, and after a 14-hour train ride to Boston, our rental car booking was not honored, and there was no offer to help us find a replacement car. The only options available last-minute were far away and several thousand dollars more than the one we pre-booked, leaving us stranded in Boston. We never made it to our destination and spent much more than we intended just to get a hotel and a flight home (still cheaper than another rental car). National Car Rental’s mistake ruined our trip and cost us $1,300 in travel costs just to get to the rental office, be turned away, and make it back home after two miserable, stressful days.

  I rented a car for a friend to make her way back home after helping drive my daughters cause to LU. We scheduled for one day as it is about a 10 hour drive back home.. got the receipt lastnight with a charge of another two days! Thank God customer service was so helpful but charging an extra $250 when the car was returned within the window it should have been is insane. Even worse is not even getting the receipt til well over 24 hours of said return date and even worse at almost 10 at night along with an email from the manager “Charlie Van Voorhis” a minute before my receipt was sent. Very fishy and unprofessional. My friend got to the counter between 7 and 7:30 and “Lauren” left a sticky note to be called. The fact that Lauren could not do her part in this process causing me to get an additional $254.03 tagged on my card is unacceptable. Do you think after driving from VA to MA in under 72 hours and having to wait over a hour for a uber to get home someone wants to deal with this? Do better.

  Outstanding service at National Car Rental – Bedford! I reserved a 7-passenger car, and they even called me in advance to confirm and set aside a brand-new Ford Expedition. Josh and Lauren went above and beyond — friendly, professional, and truly cared about my experience. Best treatment I’ve ever received at a rental agency. Highly recommend!
