  When i arrived, I told them I needed a tire rotation and my lights checked as they are cross eyed, making it hard to see in the dark. I mentioned this twice. Also on the screen it says I was due for a tire rotation and other services, did he mention those? No. But the manager wanted to push other things, like an air filter, which I had replaced by valvoline not too long ago and it was still very white. Then he insisted on the cabin air filter, new windshield wipers, and everything else under the sun. These are all items they obviously get more bonuses from. Most had the valvoline logo on them. This is a new store and it felt like a shady used car dealership. You saw a mom with a kid and wanted to push unnecessary upsells on me. To ignore what the customer wants and push unnecessary upsells that get you bonuses so you look good is dirty. Avoid this location!!!!!

  This is a new business in Athol. The bays were emptied so I thought I’d give it a try. The service was good. The staff were friendly and polite. There is some inexperienced employees however. I had fuel treatment added to my gas tank and the young lady didn’t know to use a funnel. As a result the additive was poured all down the side of my car and the ground. She got the bottle wedged in the gas tank having to force it out. Luckily it doesn’t seem to have affected the seal. The manager corrected the issue by adding a new bottle with funnel to make sure I got what I paid for. Prices are on the high side. If you use Valvoline coupons available online it brings prices down competitive rate. You get to stay in your car as all this happens. It does take quite a while as they are still working out the kink. The manager helps as best he can balancing training new employees and fielding calls all while doing oil changes. Looks like they will be a great business for the town as they get trained and work the kinks out.

  I went there on Saturday 3/14/26 to get an oil change on my 2011 Toyota RAV 4 and when I was there, they also talked me into changing my air filter because they talk to you at your window very fast and kind of force stuff on you, and they put it in wrong. I noticed something was wrong as soon as I started my car after they finished their services as it was slightly shaking and rocking back and forth, almost like a bucking/jumping feeling and I asked if this was normal for a car to do after an oil change (as I never am in my car when I get an oil change, normally the first person to start the car is the person to do my oil change so I thought with my lack of car knowledge this may have been new oil moving throughout my car engine. This is the first place I’ve ever been to where you stay in your car and they do the work) to which a young worker told me “I saw your muffler was loose when you came in, that’s probably what the feeling is”. I did think this did not make much sense as why would my muffler be shaking so bad it’s moving my car when my car was stationary, I did not think turning my car on would have caused this, but was blown off by the workers continuing their previous discussion they were having before I had asked my question. So when I left, my check engine light, traction control light, and 4WD light came on. Google said this was happening because of excess air flow to my engine. I quickly went back to ask them to look at both the air filter or oil filter to see if either was in wrong and the store manager Austin said “I’ve been very excited to use my very expensive code reader I brought from home” and read my car to which he told me was reading a MAF and O2 sensor code. Austin then also looked at my air filter and found it was in wrong but assured me it was fixed, cleared my codes with his “fancy code reader” and then told me if the lights came back on it was for sure my O2 sensor. I left and sure enough later that day my same three dash lights came back on and I made an appointment with the dealership to get my O2 sensor fixed. Not even 15 minutes into getting my car in the bay at the dealership they called me to let me know the last place that worked on my car (as I had explained to them my circumstances and how I came to be making this appointment) had failed to plug in my air inlet tube. So Vavolines mistake was missed, causing me excess expenses I am now having to file a claim for, and excess stress.
