- SBShanny BellardOct 20, 20161.0Unexperienced techs, brought my 2012 GMC Terrain in for a stalling issue I was having. 3 days after it being there I called to get an update on my vehicle only to hear that it had not been diagnosed yet. The next day around 4pm I called back and was told that it had been diagnosed and it was gonna need a new fuel pump and that it was gonna cost 1800 bucks to get it changed. ( 😳 ). I told them that I was gonna just pick the vehicle back up and get it changed myself. After getting the vehicle back home I phoned Roy Motors service dept and asked them for the fuel pressure readings, or if a test was done, naturally, the lady who I spoke with said " oh yes we did that but the tech who did it is out today... Ok, I see... long story short, I decided to dig a little further into this stalling situation and discovered that the throttle body could use cleaning. Did that and it ran about 40% better. After digging further and purchasing a engine light diagnostics machine, I come to realize the the fix to my problem was a 50 dollar part real easy to get to and simple to change.. got it changed and been running better than ever for about 2 mos now. Total rip off. Wouldn't recommend service dept to anyone.
