- CEColin EvansNov 17, 20251.0My recent experience with Sixt was genuinely disappointing from start to finish. When I arrived, I was immediately pushed toward a large, expensive upgrade. I explained clearly that I only wanted a small SUV upgrade, but was told none were available. Strangely, about 30 minutes later the exact upgrade I’d asked for suddenly became available. I was then told to wait another 30 minutes for the car to be prepared. When the keys were finally handed over, I was simply told the vehicle was parked “out back” and to go fetch it myself. No walk-through, no inspection, nothing. I had to film my own video for evidence because staff didn’t bother to check for pre-existing damage. Things got worse once I started driving. The car was dirty, smelled strongly of smoke, and — alarmingly — the washer fluid was empty and the wipers barely worked. They smeared across the windscreen so badly it was genuinely dangerous to drive. The only positive was that Sixt’s central support team eventually helped me sort the issue later in my trip. But this specific branch was extremely poorly run, disorganised, and clearly not following basic customer-service or safety standards. Would not recommend renting from this location.
