After 2 days of driving around with a battery that kept dying and calling 3 of the 4 Advanced auto parts and hearing every excuse as to why they could not change my battery for me. I thankfully tried calling the 4th Advanced Auto on Johnson St. The manager Nathaniel without hesitation said it would not be a problem. In the pouring rain, he and Tony changed it out with smiles. It's not often you go into a store and people actually want to work. Its hard to find great service like that anymore. The other locations could take a page from this stores book!!!!! Thanks

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
