I am writing to formally express my disappointment with the service I received at the Westbank Expressway location on March 6, 2025. I had a confirmed reservation to pick up a rental vehicle that morning. I arrived at 8:08 a.m., only to be told by Noah that there was no vehicle available for me, despite the reservation I had made in advance.
What made this situation even more upsetting was the complete lack of effort to resolve the problem. I remained at the location for nearly three hours, hoping that a vehicle would be returned so that I could still get on the road. During that time, Noah was dismissive and did not attempt to assist by calling other locations or offering possible solutions. I was essentially left on my own to figure out how to handle a situation that should have been managed by the staff.
This was not a casual trip. My grandmother’s funeral was in Alabama the following day, and this rental was critical for me to be able to attend and be with my family during an extremely difficult time. The stress and panic of potentially missing such an important moment because my reservation was not honored was overwhelming. Imagine being told there is no vehicle available and receiving no support when you are trying to attend your loved one’s funeral.
Out of desperation, I began calling the 1-800 customer service line and nearby locations myself while still sitting at the Westbank office, hoping a car might become available. Thankfully, the Lapalco location answered the phone. Lydia and James were incredibly professional, compassionate, and proactive. They immediately worked to find a solution and were determined to make sure I had a vehicle so I could make it to my grandmother’s funeral. Their willingness to help, communicate, and take ownership of the situation is the only reason I was able to move forward with my travel plans.
I would also like to note that I have used the Westbank location before and never experienced issues when Dwight was managing the location, which makes this experience even more concerning.
The service I received at the Westbank Expressway location was unacceptable, particularly given the circumstances. A confirmed reservation should mean that a vehicle is available, and when problems arise, customers should not be left without assistance. I strongly believe this situation deserves review and accountability.
At the same time, I want to recognize Lydia and James at the Lapalco location for their outstanding customer service. Their empathy, urgency, and professionalism are exactly what customer service should look like, especially during a difficult personal situation.
I hope this complaint is taken seriously so that no one else is placed in a position where they might miss an important family event because their reservation was not honored and they were not assisted in finding a solution.
