  My car was taken to Gerber Collision Center on Manhattan Blvd. in Harvey, LA due to a car accident. Later I was informed that it was a total loss and was told that it couldn’t be taken out without my permission. Besides I still had personal belongings in my car that I needed to get out. I went up there to retrieve my personal belongings before I give permission to have the car turned over to the Insurance Company. Upon arrival I was told that I couldn’t go in the back where my car was because no one was there at the time to assist me to the back. And they hadn’t yet brought the paperwork up to the front desk. So I was asked to come back at a later date and call before I came. Which I did the next day. Then I was informed that they had already released my car a week before to the Insurance Company whose client was at fault, which I then found out later that my car was turned over to a Carparts Center. I was devastated because I hadn’t gotten all my belongings out and I hadn’t given them permission to release it as well because I was still dealing with the Insurance Company and hadn’t turned over my Title to my car yet. None of that was acceptable!!!! 😡 And no one took accountability for their actions. So please beware when bringing your car to this establishment. Make sure to get all your belongings out of your car and be adamant about who they can and cannot release your car over to. Because they claim they don’t need a signature to do that. And I never gave them a verbal or written signature to turn my car over to anyone!
