So to be clear you need to do some serious coaching at 12222 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA
- SES ESep 22, 20251.0Advance Auto employee, Julius (refused to state his last name) must be the rudest, most arrogant human being I have ever encountered. My son went to the store to replace warrantied defective parts. The parts are well within the warranty period. He had copies of the receipts, order number included. Julius claimed he could not pull up the order number (I can pull it up in my account with no problem) and insisted he could only take an original receipt from the store (absolutely untrue!). Then he told my son he would have to call an 800 number to get things straight. Not only was that office closed but when I pulled up information as to how to return defective parts, the Advance Auto web site clearly stated you only needed the parts and the order number. I, myself, called Julius at the store and he was unbelievably rude and arrogant to me. As many years as we have dealt with Advance Auto I have never encountered such a horrible employee. I will be sending Advance Auto Corporate Offices a detailed complaint by registered letter tomorrow.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
