- KKkaleb5050Apr 1, 20261.0Had an interesting experience today, came in for a blinker bulb, the guy put in my vehicle info and he found the part number and he told me that blinker on my vehicle is “led and non serviceable”. I politely told him it in fact is not. After having to walk him to my van to show him, he finally agreed and continued the efforts in the search for the bulb. walked me to the bulb isle and handed me a bulb set. I bought it and it was not the correct bulb for the car. I returned it and brought in the dead blinker to find a match. He used an advanced database system to identify the part number on it (googled it) and told me with confidence that they do not have that part and that only a Chrysler dealership has that bulb. He then out of the kindness of his heart called the local dealership and let me know that it’s on back order for months. I decided to take matters into my own hands, I hacked the sophisticated database (I also just googled it) and found a compatible alternative part. I went to purchase the bulb and said “I’m going to try this one” to which the physically largest of the two employees informed me “well if it doesn’t work it’s the last return, we can’t have people just trying and returning items”. The bulb works btw… I considered being petty by returning the bulb anyway and getting it from O’rileys out of spite but my better half talked me out of that. But yeah don’t go here unless you want them to waste your time and ultimately you’d have to do their job for them.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle.
