- JCJoseph CherryFeb 19, 20241.0I am an ASE certified technician I have been in the business for around 12 years, I have an alternator that was purchased from them that tests bad on the vehicle and good on their bench test the guy working the counter was extremely rude and offered nothing, and as I was walking out of the store he continued to raise his voice and was just shy of shouting at me as I was trying to leave, I told him that I would be bringing the alternator back because it was absolutely defective and he told me that they would not help me if I did because I would have sabotaged the alternator in order to get a return on a lifetime warranty part. Not sure the guys name but I’ll will not step foot back into this parts store with this guy working there period.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
