Today I had the worst encounter with an Enterprise employee. The female assistant manager that usually works the Newport location was assigned to the Alexandria office today.
I had a reservation that I confirmed again 24 hours until the pickup. I was supposed to be picked up at 8am at a local body shop. This didn’t happen. At 8:15am I drove over to this Enterprise location and walked inside. I was second in line. I stayed silent until waited on by the assistant manager. I voiced my displeasure with having a reservation and not being picked up, as I had to go to work. The lady was very combative, defensive and said this isn’t her normal location and she doesn’t have any cars for me, despite my reservation. I never cursed, threatened, or made a scene, but the Enterprise manager told me she can choose not to serve me, said it twice actually, and stared me down like she wanted to fight. The other Enterprise employee and the customer in line with me witnessed this as well. I asked her why she was staring me down, and she again said she doesn’t have to serve me!
I decided to have a seat and be quiet because I did need a rental. I choose my battles.
The manager then left the customer and I alone in the lobby/office and locked the doors, and went to pick up vehicles.
The customer and I chatted while alone in the lobby (VP of a big company) who said he couldn’t believe the way she spoke to me and if it was his employee, she would be fired. I agreed.
I finally got a vehicle at 9:15am, a full 1 hour 15 minutes past my reservation time. The other employee followed me to the body shop to exchange cars. He apologized on behalf of his manager profusely and said that’s the most mad he has ever seen her get. He was so sorry that I was treated like this and it was unacceptable in his eyes. He planned to tell his branch manager in Newport. I appreciated his sincerity.
I will not let this go until I am made whole. To be told by an employee I won’t be served just because a business can’t deliver on their promise is nuts, and to be stared down like I would be physically assaulted is even worse.
If the CEO of Enterprise saw this interaction this lady would no longer be employed.
If this is how Enterprise wants to run their company then maybe the news needs notified.
I have emailed the brand manager of Newport, with initials DJ (I won’t name him publicly) and am waiting on him or the area manager NV to call me. My number was in the email.
This is unacceptable and this needs to be dealt with.

Taylor and the rest of her fellow workers, including Chase, sorry can’t remember the rest of their names… Amazing!!! We had a mishap, the other person’s insurance took care of fixing our car. For the 10 days ours was in shop, we had the pleasure of working with this Enterprise office in Alexandria. From the get go, I had a few questions before picking up our rental, called Taylor who addressed all my pre-rental jitters about getting a car that worked well for my husband and I, seniors whom purposely bought our regular car for the ease of getting in and out, along with driving. Taylor made sure she had the perfect car waiting for us ! And, she was spot on! Then she took car of getting one of the tires filled with the proper air when the warning came on 4 days later. We also kept having to get an extension on the rental due to repair delays, big help there, too! Chase was wonderful on the quick short notice we received when our car was finally ready, making things easier. And then, I couldn’t believe, 2 weeks later, we stopped by to bring donuts to the crew and ask another question on my receipt, as I was stepping into the door of the office, Taylor saw me and said, “Morning Kathy, what can I do for you today?” I was amazed… 2 weeks later and a very busy location, she still remembered and greeted me by name! And, proceeded to take address my questions. We can’t tell you enough how much we recommend her and the office, they made a trying time go smoothly and went above and beyond in customer service!
The Alexandria KY enterprise was fantastic! So friendly, accommodating, professional, & kind. They were running low on rentals (surrounding rental companies had zero cars) but this branch made sure I had a car within minutes. They even drove me home after returning the car. The vehicle I rented was very clean, drove well, & nice. The customer service was outstanding, treated me like a long lost friend. I’d recommend this company to anyone needing a rental.
There was a winter storm happening when we arrived, unfortunately our vehicle wasn’t returned due to it. They upgraded us to another vehicle with no additional fees added. Very accommodating and friendly staff. Will definitely use this location when we return in May!
