Do not expect to have a car when you arrive, even if you have a reservation and are told it’s “100% guaranteed.” I made a one-way reservation from Wichita to Kansas City through Enterprise’s main customer service line after calling the local branch five separate times with no answer. Knowing Enterprise’s reputation for overbooking, I explicitly asked multiple times if I would definitely have a car. I was told yes—100% guaranteed. At 10:30 AM—my exact pickup time, the branch manager called to tell me they didn’t have a car and wouldn’t have one available at all. When I asked why I was assured otherwise, he dismissed it, saying he didn’t tell me that—“that was customer service.” In other words, the company’s own representatives can promise anything, and the local branch takes zero responsibility. It gets worse. He said if I wanted a “guarantee,” I should have booked 48 hours in advance—then immediately admitted even that wouldn’t actually guarantee anything because “life happens.” So what exactly does a reservation mean here? This is a business that overpromises, underdelivers, and refuses to take accountability when they fail. If you actually need a vehicle, don’t risk it here. Book somewhere that respects your time and honors reservations.
