After scanning my voucher, the manager (Cade) refused to perform the oil change, citing a gasket leak. However, because he had already scanned the code, he "spent" my money. When I asked to use the credit for my second vehicle instead, he refused. Groupon has confirmed they cannot refund me because Valvoline marked the service as "redeemed." When I returned to resolve this, Cade changed his story, claiming he only "recommended" the dealership and didn't refuse service—which is a lie. If he hadn't refused, I would have had the oil change done! Now I am out the money with no service to show for it. Unprofessional and dishonest.

When I arrived, the first two employees who greeted me were friendly and professional, and I appreciated their customer service. However, the next employee, Cade, was extremely unprofessional. From the moment he walked up to my vehicle, his attitude was off. Instead of focusing on the service, he immediately made a comment about a smell in my car. I apologized once and acknowledged it, but he continued bringing it up—loudly, and in front of other customers—almost as if he was trying to shame me. No other Valvoline location I’ve visited has ever mentioned anything like this, and even at this location the first two employees didn’t say a word. Cade’s comments felt unnecessary, personal, and completely inappropriate for a customer-facing role. I’ve trusted Valvoline for years, but this experience left me uncomfortable and disappointed. Because of this incident, I will not be returning to that particular location. What made the situation even more concerning was that Cade mentioned this was a “family business,” yet his own appearance did not reflect a family-friendly or professional environment. His pants were low enough that his backside was visible, and his shirt was lifted to the point that his stomach was exposed. If a location is meant to be family-oriented, staff presentation should match that standard. Because of Cade’s attitude and conduct, I took my business elsewhere. I’m sharing this so management is aware, because no customer should be spoken to or treated in that way.
