- BBBrettNov 11, 20255.0I chose Chance to replace the A4LD in our '93 Ranger (been in the family for 30 years) with a Chance reman unit. It wasn't it's time to go quite yet and it has been giving me lots of faithful service as a truck to do truck things. I have had to go back three times unfortunately. However so far warranty work has been covered without any fuss! First was a leak, then reverse would not engage until the reverse servo O-ring(s) were replaced which fixed that issue. Currently it will not engage Drive (3rd gear) when the fluid is cold, has to drive approx 2-3 miles before I can get above 2nd so I'm heading back. All this to say things can have problems, especially rebuilds of 30+ year old hydraulic transmissions but they stand by their 24M/20K mile warranty (I'm about 5K in). Come for the knowledge, stay for the warranty!
