We were visiting Weston, MO, from Omaha, NE, for the weekend, and decided to drive to Ikea to pick up a few things this past Saturday. On the way back to Weston, we felt something go wrong with our truck's back tire. We thought it was a flat, but when we pulled over on the interstate, the back tire fell off. There were no lug nuts, and the truck was not in good shape. We had just had the truck serviced at the dealership, where they worked on the rear suspension. We had a full spare tire, but we were unable to change it ourselves because of the damage, so we started calling all the shops nearby. We called a few places, but we didn't have any luck. Then we called The Goodyear in Kansas City, who told us to call the Goodyear shop in Shawnee - this was a day-changing referral. We called the Shawnee shop and spoke to Michael Kramer, the Store Manager. Michael was empathetic about our situation and said that if we could get the truck over there, they would try to fix it that day or figure out a plan for us. The tow company got us over there in about an hour, and when we got to the store, Nick Leipard, the Service Manager, began researching and figuring out what to do and whether they could fix our truck that day. Since our truck is only a year old, Nick found the part we needed in AZ, but it would take 5 to 10 days to get here. Nick said he was going to see if they could get the studs out and figure out a way to get this tire on, so we could drive back to Omaha. While Nick was working on that, Michael helped walk us through the issues with the truck and what needed to be fixed when we got it back to the dealership or whoever would fix it. He gave us great advice on how to handle this upsetting situation. Nick and his team got the truck safe and working for us. Both Michael and Nick kept us updated during our time there. They made sure we had water and just took care of us on a very stressful day. We knew when we left there that we would get home safely. We ended up cutting our trip short and drove back to Omaha that night. Today, Michael called my husband to check on us and to make sure we made it home safely. This shop goes above and beyond. I wish we lived closer so we could take both our vehicles there. Thank you, Michael, Nick, and all the staff who helped us on Saturday. You really made a tough day so much better, and we are forever grateful to each of you!
