  When I went to pick up the rental I was told I was lucky to get the van that we had rented because there was only one left because the other 2 people didn’t qualify. I had reserved the van so I’m not really sure why I was being told any of this. We were going on a family vacation and had decided to rent a minivan so we would have more room. It just didn’t make sense why I was being told about being lucky to be getting what I had fully reserved. Then I went out to the lot to get the van. Didn’t know where exactly it was or which one just had to keep pushing the alarm/lock to figure it out. Maybe being told the color or spot to find it would be helpful for renters? Got the van home and it was filthy! There were items left in the van from prior renters that my children found. Hair from what appeared to be an animal all over in it. Cheerios and food in between and under the seats. The vehicle just had a bad smell to it. Our family cleaned it with Clorox wipes, vacuumed it all out, and cleaned all the windows. When I say it wasn’t cleaned I’m telling you it was disgusting! A couple days into the trip our son dropped something under the passenger seat and when he got down to get it after we stopped he pulled out a used baby diaper! So now we knew what the smell was that we couldn’t get rid of. The vehicle itself ran fine and operated appropriately but all the rest of the rental was very disappointing and not what I have experienced with other rental companies/vehicles. Before we returned the van we cleaned the inside too to bottom- vacuumed, Clorox wiped down everything including the door wells from the road dust. I understand that not all people will do this but we wanted to return it better than when we received it so no one else had the experience we had. When we returned it no one was at the desk or we would have discussed these things with a representative. I have a feeling though it wouldn’t have mattered considering the experience I had upon picking it up. I used Costco Travel program for the reservation and will be letting them know of the experience we had as well as they should know the programs they use are not up to standard for basic cleanliness and professionalism.

  Today we had a terrible experience when we returned the car, in Kansas City airport location. Somebody received the car the we rented. It was around the 10:56 pm of October 7th we arrived to the parking to returned it and the person who received us was so rude with us , she laughed in our face because we don’t speak fluent English her name is Alina . Also she was not informative about some questions we asked. And had some kind of attitude anytime we were talking

  Alamo was the most pleasant car rental experience I have ever had! The man at the counter was beyond friendly and clear with all of the necessary instructions, and I was given an upgrade to probably the nicest car I will ever drive! The airport is currently under construction and at the time of my drop off it was closed despite the airports construction hours listed as open at that time, making drop off difficult and a bit stressful. However, Alamo likely had no idea I wouldn’t be able to get in to return the keys, otherwise I’m sure the friendly and helpful gentleman would have told me. Even after that, nothing can beat the excellent customer service and amazing prices I found with Alamo! I will be going back every time I need to travel!

  Booked through Expedia, Flight was delayed, arrived in Manhattan at 7, Alamo closes at 6pm. And doesn’t open till noon on Friday. So I’m in town with no rental car. Sorely disappointed
