  You know, reviews mean less and less any more. People are quick to punish a business when things don't go perfectly and when things go right, people don't bother to leave a positive review. Our experience with Budget was excellent! But I will leave a couple keys to success. First off, reserve your rental a minimum of two weeks in advance. More, if possible. Second, when reserving, call Budget corporate and speak to a live person. Third, pay cash up front for your reservation. By doing all three of these, our experience with Budget was excellent! The people were friendly at the pickup location and they were equally nice at the drop-off location. The car was in perfect condition and very clean. It drove nicely and got outstanding gas mileage. I spent well less than ten minutes at each location. The offices were both clean and neat. The only reason I can think of for negative reviews is that people who generally have a negative attitude towards life will be more prone to leave a negative review. Budget car rentals, highly recommended!

  We had an outstanding experience with Mr. Easter the manager at Budget in Lawrence KS. He was very friendly when we walked into the office. Mr. Easter's was very professional and knowledgeable about the several options we could select before purchasing our car policy. We would definitely come back to this rental office again.   Absolute HORRIBLE service. They overbooked the trucks and didn't bother to call me. I had to drive over 150 miles away to pick up a truck and they charged me for the extra miles from their mistake. And when I arrived at the pickup location they were not there and did not show up for an hour. The employees at each location were rude and both said they did not have time or energy to deal with it. One suggested I try Uhaul... The other employee was so rude and aggressive that he tried to kick me out and deny service. His yelling was so aggressive that I had to call the police. They also required us to drop the truck back off at the far away location, a day earlier than planned and charged for those extra miles. To top it off, the truck broke down on the way back and we had to have it towed. The tow truck employee said it was the second time he had towed the SAME truck for the SAME reason, Horrible company with even worse employees.
