The equipment is causing electrical issues with my car, like the push button start nothing wrong with it, but at times I have to keep resetting the breathalyzer sometimes it takes 30 to 45 minutes before it will start, just REALLY screwing with my computer, not at all happy with it, also I drive in big cities with lots of traffic next time I almost wreck because it’s asking me to blow I’m going to sue the company, take note, you should only be required to blow to start the vehicle and shut it off period not every 5 to 10 minutes

I recently had it installed and I can't complain. It does what it's supposed to do!

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.

What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?

The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
