- ATAbe TurnerDec 20, 20251.0Recently found out that the Gills in Wichita had been shut down, so on my way to KC I stopped at the Emporia location to get my tires rotated for my tire warranty. I was greeted by dirty and greasy hands which immediately caused me unease. The technician drove my car into the shop and proceeded to open all my doors, trunk and hood (didn’t realize this was the new procedure, guys in Wichita never did this and nor did I want them to). I sat there wondering why they were opening everything up when I already gave him the socket for the lock nut so they didn’t have to search for it. When my car was brought from out of the shop there was grease and dirt all over my steering wheel, grease on the head rest of the drivers seat, door handle and seat belt area. I understand that working on cars/equipment can be a dirty job (I have a diesel tech degree and have worked on plenty of filthy equipment pieces), but the lack of respect for a customers vehicle was astonishing. Going forward, take the time to wear rubber gloves or wash your hands and check yourself before entering a vehicle. Just because you’re a technician, doesn’t mean you can’t be professional.
