In 1963, Larry Triplett, Founder, opened his first location, a Standard Station on Interstate 70 and North Ninth Street in Salina, Kansas. That location is still open today. Through acquisitions and trades, Triplett, Inc. owned Standard/Amoco stations in Junction City, Manhattan, Paxico and Topeka. Those locations were sold in the 1970\'s and early 80\'s to transition from the traditional service station business to large travel plazas designed to meet the needs of the traveling public on major interstates.
