I had an issue with my ignition lock device and was going to be charged $75 to have it reset and $43 to have it recalibrated. The company contacted me by phone call and after discussing the issue they gave me $75 credit and also the recalibration fee of $43 credit. The customer service representative was very polite and very understanding and I could not have been happier with how the issue was handled.

This review has nothing to do with the service center SNS Auto. SNS is awesome and very helpful. The rest of Intoxalock is terrible.
Intoxalock has been nothing but a frustrating experience. Where do I even start?... first the device itself is extremely inaccurate. I will have to blow 3-4 times before it actually reads a breathe sample. This seems very suspicious/unethical that we are leaving such outdated and inaccurate technology as the deciding factor to which someone is allowed to still drive or not. Secondly the app (which I will address) suggested since it was 4° outside to remove the device at night and take it inside to protect it. I plugged it back in the next morning and now after doing what they suggested I have a lock out. This cost's $75 to remove.
Essentially extorting the customer. Thirdly the app/website. There is a chat option on the website. In which no one is ever able to be reached. There is NO option to send an email to support help. Essentially leaving the only way to contact support is by phone. And when you do finally reach someone they hardly speak any English and argue with you further frustrating the situation. For the high cost in which most people can't afford because they just got raped financially in court. You would think this would be a better service.
Setting aside the fact that the government/ DMV is holding your right to move about freely in our own state/country.
All in all. Intoxalock has a lot of improvement's they need to make. But what do they care? Old equipment and terrible service? What else are you going to do?? HA!
Again. The 1 star review is for Intoxalock itself. Not for SNS auto!
Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock
How does an interlock device work?
An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.
What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?
The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
How do I use my interlock device?
Using an IID is simple. To start your vehicle, blow into the device as directed. If the device detects no alcohol, your car will start. You may be prompted for "rolling retests" while driving, where you’ll blow into the device again to confirm compliance. How-to videos are also available on the Intoxalock mobile app.

What happens if I fail a breath test on my ignition interlock device?
If you fail a breath test, your vehicle will not start, and the device will log the event. Depending on your state’s regulations, multiple failed tests may trigger additional penalties, such as lockouts or reporting to your monitoring authority.
