  The first car had two issues, so they replaced it with a different car, which was fine. The young lady who served us was fantastic.

  Such a warm welcome to Iceland! The whole rental experience was smooth, friendly, and very pleasant — you can even grab a coffee in the office while everything is being sorted. A special shoutout to Larry, who was incredibly helpful and welcoming. It’s so nice to arrive in a new country and be greeted by people like him. Great service and a perfect start to my Iceland trip! Muchas gracias!

  We have rented with MyCar three times and were always very satisfied. Unfortunately, our most recent rental came shortly after the company was acquired by Enterprise, and in our experience the service has become less personal than it used to be. We had booked a Toyota Hilux 33" Mountain Edition, but were initially given the keys to a different and significantly cheaper model. After we pointed this out, the staff were friendly, helpful and managed to provide the correct vehicle within about 30 minutes. We really appreciated their efforts, but we were disappointed that such a mistake happened in the first place. With the former MyCar team, the handover had always been smooth and straightforward. Another difference was the level of customer service. In previous years, MyCar had always gone the extra mile. For example, after returning the vehicle we were driven directly to our nearby hotel. This time, we were initially told to take the bus to the airport. Only then did the staff realise that there was no bus running anymore at that time. They kindly drove us to the airport instead, but we still had to pay around €40 for a taxi to cover the final 3 km to our hotel. For a rental costing nearly €5,000, we had expected a little more flexibility. Overall, the vehicle itself was excellent and the staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful. Our disappointment is mainly that, after the Enterprise takeover, the personal touch that made MyCar stand out seems to have been lost. We truly hope this level of service will improve again. Until then, after three great experiences with MyCar, we will unfortunately be looking at other rental companies for our future trips to Iceland.

  Had a quite good experience, car was in good shape and only 15k km on it, all went smoothly with it, Larry (who handed me the car) was friendly and attentive, the only inconvenience is that you need a shuttle bus, that makes few stops on the way back - so need to plan some extra time to reach the airport. Apart from this, recommended.

  Sofia checked us in and she was v friendly and resourceful. It was a busy afternoon so we had to wait a bit. It’s absolutely worth paying extra for the wifi because it has great coverage at every part of the Ring road even in remote regions, our 5G SIM card wasn’t as good. We bought the highest level of insurance after reading some of the travelers feedback online, zero excess for peace of mind esp those horrible stories of ripped doors (yes the wind is VERY real !!) and gravel roads (many, esp in the North). Our RAV4 only ran 6000km so just as real. Really recommend to rent a 4WD if you are doing the entire ring road, we did 2400km and very confident along unmarked roads and very wet roads. Emil at car return was v efficient. The only major area for improvement is the shuttle service (hence the four star): it’s very packed at peak hours, we had a not so friendly driver who was clearly in a hurry esp around corner when the bus was fully packed and every one was drenched as it was pouring. He refused to bring the bus closer to the car rental office (where we sheltered with our big suitcases) like the driver before him as the weather was terrible, he just stared at us from a distance and waited and waited and then watched us dragged our stuff in pouring rain over 50m. I am soooo glad we were relatively fit and mobile, I cannot imagine what families with young kids or elderly with mobility issues could handle this shuttle service. The shuttle bus serves several car companies. Clearly some improvement is needed.
