    My parking brake light came on and would not turn off. I called the Car-X in Whiting to see if they would be able to work on parking brake issues. The man on the phone ( Tim ) said yes and asked me to bring in my vehicle. So, on October 10th 2025 I brought my vehicle in and upon inspection I was told the master cylinder was the issue. It needed to be replaced along with a brake fluid exchange and the cost would be $900.80. I told them to do the repair. After paying $900.80 for the repair and driving the vehicle, the parking brake light was still on, it did not turn off. I immediately called Car-X and told them of the problem to which they asked me to bring back the vehicle the next day. When I brought my vehicle back to Car-X, they explained to me that the parking brake sensor also needed to be changed to complete the repair. The mechanic Tim explained that he didn't previously know this, and found out through the advisement of an associate, and that he would switch out the sensor at no extra charge. I very much appreciate the mechanic's integrity in admitting the mistake and offering to make the repair at no additional charge and I thank Tim for that. However, this is where my experience began to deteriorate. The sensor was ordered and when I brought my car in to have it installed, it was the wrong sensor and didn't fit. The mechanic explained he would order the correct one and install it - that never happened. After several weeks of my calling I kept on receiving excuses that the part was on order and had not arrived. At one point the mechanic Tim stated that the tracking number showed the part was on the way and would arrive later in the week though I never received a call. This was about mid-November. I called again the week of Thanksgiving and the mechanic told me the part just had to be picked up at their parts supplier and the sensor would be installed before Thanksgiving - again that didn't happen. I called the week after Thanksgiving and again spoke with the mechanic Tim. He told me the part had to be picked up and he didn't have any time. I said I was tired of excuses and I wanted to set up an appointment for that week to complete the install. At which point the mechanic became extremely irate with me, yelling at me saying I'm getting something for free ( which again I paid $900.80 for this repair - I'm not getting anything for free ) and fine he would fix it on Friday of that week. Well again that never happened and that is the last I heard from them. I already called the customer service to file a complaint and was told the district manager would call me. Well that was two weeks ago and I never heard anything. So at the end of the day this shop demonstrated zero integrity in the sense of completing the work and also in following up with me after filing my complaint. So I would strongly suggest avoiding this shop!!!

    Took my gf car in for an oil change, the guy that rung us up forgot to put in the $20 off coupon. When I pointed it out he said he was unable to fix his mistake. I was then offered $40 an oil change that day on my car. I didn’t need an oil change at the time so the gentleman gave me a business card with his signature that said “$40 off oil change”. When I went in for an oil change for my car and presented the card, the same guy said he couldn’t honor it for my car. It’s just bad business. I left and will never go back.

    I had an incredible experience at CarX thanks to Krista. When I came to pick up my vehicle, she went completely out of her way to help me. Everyone else had already gone home early, and she could have too. Instead, Krista stayed late on her own just to make sure I was taken care of. She did not rush me, she did not make me feel like an inconvenience, and helped me tremendously as I needed my car that night! She absolutely did not have to stay, but she chose to, and that level of dedication is rare these days. Because of her, I was able to get my vehicle when I really needed it. If you ever need service at CarX, ask for Krista. She is the kind of person who goes the extra mile, and I am truly grateful for her help.
