    VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE SERVICE They gave me a VERY HIGH QUOTE and then tried to SCARE ME by saying I was “RISKING EVERYONE’S LIFE.” When I asked to do only PART OF THE JOB, they refused to help. This felt like a FEAR-BASED SALES TACTIC with NO RESPECT FOR CUSTOMERS. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

    Great experience at Car-X West Lafayette I had a great experience at Car-X West Lafayette while traveling from West Lafayette to Chicago on 12/14/25. My car’s engine started overheating due to a low coolant level, so I stopped by to have it checked at Car-X. Scott Smith’s team was incredibly helpful and honest. Joe took the time to diagnose the issue, attempted to fix the problem, and refilled the coolant. What truly stood out was their integrity — despite all the time and effort he put in, he didn’t charge me anything. I really appreciate their thoughtfulness and support at a time of need. I would highly recommend Car-X West Lafayette to anyone looking for honest and dependable automotive service.

    Been there twice. Never works on time. Wasted hours of my time. The fees are on the higher side. Tried to charge me 60-70 bucks for a light bulb change. Can get it done cheaper at a dealership. I changed the bulb myself for 20 bucks. Their tire replacement labour costs 2-3x compared to Walmart.

    Scott, Joe and the entire staff were awesome on 12/27/25. They went over my car and found everything that was time to replace and helped me prioritize what needed to be done first. They were kind, considerate, hard workers, patient, and customer service was absolutely outstanding. I would definitely recommend this store.
