I got in my car and my shifter was locked in park, I went back inside and spoke to the guy that just rang me out and asked if I can use a shop tool (torx bit) he replied by saying no! I can sell you one but I’m not letting you use anything. On the website it says they offer loaner tools this is a quote from the website (Vehicle repairs can add up - especially if you don’t have the tools for the job. Save money when you use our free loaner tool program. Refundable deposit required. That’s crazy because o’Reilly lets you use basic tools.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
